Competition Clutch steel flywheels are made of 4140 forged steel and are one-piece designs, which helps significantly in reducing the chances of ring gear separation and friction surface warpage. Forged steel flywheels work with all performance and stock clutch assemblies, and can be resurfaced. Competition Clutch Ultra-lightweight steel flywheels are recommended for forced induction and/or track and rally racing applications. They are machined with less material to assist in quicker revving capabilities, and are well suited for Stage 3 and up clutch applications.

Bowler Performance lock-up control modules come complete with everything needed to seamlessly control your torque converter lock-up. Converter lock-up will occur 8 to10 seconds after 4th gear engagement, allowing enough engine rpm gain before lock-up, giving your engine more performance and providing a better feel to lock-up. Bowler's lock-up modules only require one 2 amp fused 12 V wire to operate. No vacuum switch is necessary allowing these modules to function correctly with all types of engines, and there are no bulky boxes to hide or mount. The control modules have the GM 4-prong connector integrated onto the control board, and are epoxy coated to stay protected against the elements. Choose the kit designed for your transmission. Kits include: * Lock-up control module * Internal wiring harness with lock-up solenoid and mounting studs * Pressure switch * Pan gasket * New transmission filter * Case pass through connector * Brake light switch—standard that has a normally closed switch (for your lock-up module) and a normally open switch (for your brake lights). The brake switch does not have to be installed for the lock-up module to function, but will allow the driver to tap the brake to un-lock the converter at any time. If you are going up an incline and need a few more rpms to get up that hill, just tap the brake, and the lock-up will turn off and not re-engage for approximately 8 seconds. For those with a high-gear ratio and late down shifts who experience a chug of the motor due to the lock-up converter still being engaged; the switch will eliminate this concern.

Cast flywheels are not explosion-proof and can be dangerous when used in high performance applications at higher rpm. RAM billet steel flywheels are recommended as replacements for factory-cast flywheels in high performance and racing vehicles. Made in America and produced in-house, all RAM flywheels are computer balanced within a 1/2 oz., surface ground (which results an optimum mating surface), and are ready to run out of the box. They're better for launching heavier drag race cars and provide better drivability in street vehicles. SFI-approved, RAM billet steel flywheels are CNC-machined from certified materials. Order the model recommended for your year/make and engine application. Technical note: As they spin, heavy flywheels store more energy than lighter ones. Engine and gearing combinations that require more power or inertia to make the car launch without bogging the motor need heavier flywheels. However, heavier flywheels accelerate slower. Lighter flywheels create less inertia at launch, but accelerate quicker through the gears. When choosing a flywheel, you must consider the car's weight, operating rpm of the engine, and, most importantly, the gearing. Insufficient gearing will cause an engine with too light of a flywheel to "bog" on launch.
