Drive Chains

Don’t let a worn-out and stretched drive chain become the weak link in your powersports drivetrain! Like tires, brake pads, and sparkplugs, drive chains should be periodically inspected, maintained, and replaced when necessary. When it’s time to replace your primary drive chain, you have lots of options.



Standard unsealed chains can be cost effective, but they can require more lubrication compared to sealed chains like an O-ring or X-ring chain. The finish of your new chain is important as well. A raw, natural, or unfinished chain may require frequent lubrication to prevent rust. If you live in an area where corrosion is a problem, you may want to step up to a painted or plated chain that offers improved corrosion resistance.



Remember, when it’s time to replace your drive chain, it’s also a good idea to replace your sprockets as well.
