Cast flywheels are not explosion-proof and can be dangerous when used in high performance applications at higher rpm. RAM billet steel flywheels are recommended as replacements for factory-cast flywheels in high performance and racing vehicles. Made in America and produced in-house, all RAM flywheels are computer balanced within a 1/2 oz., surface ground (which results an optimum mating surface), and are ready to run out of the box. They're better for launching heavier drag race cars and provide better drivability in street vehicles. SFI-approved, RAM billet steel flywheels are CNC-machined from certified materials. Order the model recommended for your year/make and engine application. Technical note: As they spin, heavy flywheels store more energy than lighter ones. RAM hydraulic throwout bearing travel adjustment systems are designed for late model vehicles equipped with internal slave cylinder and bearings. Factory hydraulic systems do not allow for adjustment of the pedal position, often resulting in a high engagement point when using aftermarket clutches. The Ram system allows you to adjust your pedal position lower to the floor for better driver comfort, while allowing you to minimize the release of your clutch system for racing applications. Some vehicles experience shifting problems at higher RPM due to over centering, or over travel of the clutch fingers. By limiting this travel and setting the clutch pedal for minimum release this over travel situation can be eliminated, restoring clean shifts at high RPM.

RAM billet aluminum flywheels greatly reduce rotating weight to permit quicker revving and higher power output, but still retain enough mass to resist heat distortion that could adversely affect clutch performance. RAM billet aluminum flywheels are made in America and produced in house. All RAM flywheels are computer-balanced within a 1/2 oz., surface ground (which results an optimum mating surface), and are ready to run out of the box.
