The top portion does not need to be unscrewed in order to loop the tow strap; the tow strap simply slides easily into place over the hook. BOLT locking recovery hooks fit standard 7/8 in. bumper tabs, winches, and recovery straps and are compatible with Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Toyota and Nissan truck makes and models.
