Jack Stands

For the DIY home mechanic, a great set of jack stands can provide safety and convenience. Floor jacks are fine for lifting the vehicle up, but once it’s at the height you need, hold it up with a set of jack stands for stability and reliability.

In addition to their range of heights, the other important specification for jack stands is weight capacity. Each stand you’re using should be rated at the curb weight of the vehicle, so if you’re lifting a 4,000 lb. vehicle, each jack stand should be able to support at least 2 tons.
