At high engine speeds, the smallest imperfections in your clutch, flexplate, or flywheel can throw things out of balance, and that can result in a shrapnel-spraying failure. To keep this destruction from injuring the driver or bystanders, it’s a good idea to install a transmission shield (also called a scatter shield) and a flexplate shield. In fact, it may be required by your sanctioning body!

Protect yourself and your vehicle with one of these Summit Racing™ transmission shield and flexplate shield Pro Packs. They include an SFI 4.1 approved aluminum transmission shield and a steel SFI 30.1 approved flexplate shield. The Summit Racing™ transmission shield and flexplate shield Pro Packs are available for Powerglide, TH350, and TH400 automatic transmissions. You can also choose either red or blue shields; both the flexplate shield and transmission shield will have the same finish.
