What Does DIN Mean?
DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung, the German national organization for standards. It standardized the size for dashboard-mounted automotive head units, with a 180mm x 50mm front panel, commonly referred to as a “DIN-size” or DIN radio. Many radios are also available in 1.5 DIN or “double DIN” sizes.
