Powerglide transmissions lack the simplicity of connecting a shifting linkage to them that later GM automatic transmissions adopted. As a result, there exist many different range-select shafts with their differences. Shiftworks steering column shift linkages are offered in two different kits to use with models that have removable or non-removeable transmission shift levers. Choose the proper kit for your Powerglide. Flaming River Tilt Column Shift Steering Columns

Flaming River tilt column shift steering columns feature large tube diameters and compact shrouds to create a unique custom look. Available in a variety of styles, lengths, and shaft sizes, they come complete with a gearshift knob, billet dress up kit (tilt, turn signal lever, and hazard knob), GM wiring (4 1/4 in. connector), and removable 12-position linkage arm. The columns are manufactured from high-quality 304 grade stainless steel, will never rust, and are available in a variety of finishes—including a paintable mill finish, black powdercoated, spray chromed, or polished to a high luster. Mill finish columns are shipped chemically clean and can be painted to match or highlight an interior with only minor preparation. A combination neutral safety switch/back-up light (sold separately) must be ordered with the column, except for select models that include a switch. Select units include an integrated ignition key located at the 3 o'clock position, with no welded-on attachments or extra relays required. These columns are complete with a key assembly, wiring, and ignition switch. Columns are offered with or without illuminated gearshift indicators. Have an overdrive automatic transmission? Borgeson Shortened Stock Column Shift Steering Columns

Borgeson shortened stock column shift steering columns maintain original column shift function with power steering conversion. These columns work with 1957 Chevy cars that have column shift automatic transmissions. The shortened design allows proper fit and clearance when using conversion steering boxes. You must use part number 055049 rag joint to connect this column to the conversion box properly. The replacement columns keep the original look and shift pattern while working with modern power steering; and their stock style appearance maintains your car's original interior design. Installation requires removing your original column and installing this shortened version. Basic mechanical skills and tools are needed for proper installation.
