Our full size high-torque starters give you 25 percent more torque than your OE starter. On the inside, we gave them specially wound copper field coils, heat-resistant solenoids, low-carbon brushes, and thick-barred armatures for fail-free performance under high-temperature conditions. The rotating assemblies spin on heat-treated shafts that ride in Bendix bearings for reliability and long life. These starters fit all Chevys with a 168-tooth ring gear and a staggered bolt pattern.

CVR Protorque Ultra starters live up to their name by delivering 250+ lb.-ft. of torque. They feature a specially wound field coil and armature to deliver that torque throughout the cranking range. The machined aluminum adjustable mounting block works with most oversized kickout oil pans, and are great for big cubic inch engines. The starters use a 2.5 kW, 3.4 hp motor that'll support up to 18:1 compression ratio.

With their gear-reduction drives, heavy-duty Powermaster PowerMax starters really crank out the power--180 lb.-ft. of torque. So, they can handle engines with moderate compression ratios. If your stock starter clears your oil pan, the Powermaster PowerMax starters will, too. Some will also clear kicked-out pans. Powermaster PowerMax starters can be mounted in multiple orientations to fit your needs. Starter dyno reports are included.
