Summit Racing™ Protorque Starters are 100 percent new! Our lightweight Nippondenso-type starters offer a 4.0:1 gear-reduction ratio and a whopping 1.9 HP. That's 222 ft.-lbs of racecar cranking power. If that's not enough cranking power to suit you, there are even more powerful 3.1 hp monsters, which are a pound lighter! They have a 4.44:1 reduction ratio and churn out an awesome 342 ft.-lbs. of torque. Both of our Summit Racing™ powerhouses are suitable for engines up to 502 c.i.d., and compression ratios of up to 18.0:1. GM versions are adjustable for five mounting positions; Ford types, for 18. And, to prevent corrosion and electrical shorts, both starters wear a gold dichromate finish.

With 1.9 hp and a 4:1 gear reduction ratio, these CVR Protorque starters are sure to get your engine cranking. These starters feature a unique aluminum housing to eliminate hot start problems and are adjustable (where applicable) to help clear suspension parts, oil pans, and exhaust systems. These CVR Protorque starters are sealed units with rubber O-rings and grommets and also have easily replaceable plungers and contacts.
