The new Ultra 6AL Plus ignition boxes deliver full MSD power in a compact, lighter package! The Ultra 6AL Series continues to use a high-speed controller that can make extremely quick compensations to the output voltage, multiple spark series, timing and rpm limits, while maintaining precise timing and accurate rev limiting. The circuits and controller of the MSD have been thoroughly filtered to create protection against Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI). Ultra 6AL Series features a capacitive discharge ignition design. (The majority of stock ignition systems are inductive ignitions, in which the coil must store and step up the voltage to maximum strength in between each firing. At higher RPM, since there's less time to charge the coil to full capacity, the voltage falls short of reaching maximum energy—which results in a loss of power or top end miss.) Biondo Elite time/rpm activated switches are designed for racers who want to shift by time, rpm, or a combination of the two--and they have several improvements over the original Elite rpm switches. They can shift up to five times by either time or rpm, and have an expanded rpm range from 3,000 to 19,999 that can be entered for any shift. Each time a shift occurs during a pass, the time and rpm of the shift are stored in memory for review after the pass. Biondo Digital Delay Elite time or rpm switches feature a push-button input that allows the switch to start the shifting routine with the release of a button, and can be tied to the trans-brake solenoid to start the shift routine when the trans-brake releases, if desired. When the Start Pass rpm is being used to start the shift routine instead of the push-button input, the push-button can be set to Burnout Mode to keep the box from shifting during the burnout. If your Coyote-powered Ford was built after February 23, 2016, and you need a 2-Step rev-limiter for consistent burnouts or launches, MSD part number 87311 has you covered. When activated, the 2-Step will hold your engine at a constant RPM. This can be achieved by way of a clutch switch or push button. As soon as your activation switch or button is released, full ignition is restored and you're off to the races. The RPM is adjusted with two built-in rotary dials ranging from 1,800-9,900 rpm in 100 rpm increments. A handy LED shows when the launch rev limit is active.
