MSD Ultra 6AL Plus Ignition Boxes
The new Ultra 6AL Plus ignition boxes deliver full MSD power in a compact, lighter package! The Ultra 6AL Series continues to use a high-speed controller that can make extremely quick compensations to the output voltage, multiple spark series, timing and rpm limits, while maintaining precise timing and accurate rev limiting. The circuits and controller of the MSD have been thoroughly filtered to create protection against Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI). Ultra 6AL Series features a capacitive discharge ignition design. (The majority of stock ignition systems are inductive ignitions, in which the coil must store and step up the voltage to maximum strength in between each firing. At higher RPM, since there's less time to charge the coil to full capacity, the voltage falls short of reaching maximum energy—which results in a loss of power or top end miss.) MSD Direct Ignition Systems
The MSD Direct Ignition System (DIS) controller greatly simplifies the conversion from conventional distributor-type engines to a coil-per-plug configuration. Benefits include the elimination of distributor cap and rotor wear; reduced spark energy losses caused by long spark plug wires; and the ability to optimize your ignition tuning parameters. The integral 2.5 bar MAP sensor and optional temperature sensor input mean you get the most power and reliability out of your naturally aspirated or forced induction engine. Nitrous-fed engines benefit from the included Step Retard feature. Drag racers will appreciate the 2-Step rev limiter and Launch Retard features. MSD DIS Series Ignition Control Boxes
MSD's DIS Series ignition control boxes are designed to easily convert an early style engine from a conventional distributor and single coil setup to eight individual coils. One coil per cylinder means no moving parts in a distributor to control the timing and no cap and rotor to wear-out. Timing is digitally controlled ensuring precision accuracy at all rpms and every firing.
