MSD 7AL-3 ignition boxes have been a favorite of sportsmen and racers that want adjustments at their fingertips. For nitrous fans, there are four separate stages that can be activated independently yet add up together. Plus there's an RPM Activated Switch for precise control over a circuit. These ignitions combine high-output spark energy for high-compression race engines, combined with the most popular drag racing accessories, including a 3-step rev limiter, 4-stage retards, a start retard, and an rpm-activated switch. MSD is re-launching the 7AL-3s with upgraded features, a new look, and updated internal components, including surface mount circuitry. The new 7AL-3s are easy to spot with a black anodized housing and a new adjustable start retard circuit. Racers will also be happy to learn that the ignition can now be used on 4, 6, or 8-cylinder engines! The 6-Mod Ignition Controller was originally developed for the 4.6 and 5.4-liter modular motors that were fed through a carburetor rather than an electronic fuel injection system. However, with the useful options that the 6-Mod provides, such as two rev limits, a step retard and easy control over the timing, the EFI people wanted a way to take advantage of the adjustment. The harness kit provides a splice-free installation of the MSD 6-Mod Controller to factory equipped EFI vehicles making installation a snap. All of the connectors plug directly to the factory units so there is no cutting or splicing of your factory wires. Once installed, the 6-Mod allows users to advance or retard the factory's timing curve, program a step retard for use with nitrous systems or even map out a timing curve through a laptop by using MSD's Pro-Data+ software.

MSD DIS-4 Plus digital ignitions improve the output of your late model distributorless ignition system (DIS). The capacitive discharge ignitions feature multi-channel capability, complemented with multiple sparks, two rev limiters, and a timing control. These DIS ignitions are engineered with the latest in digital science, including power MOSFET technology and efficient IGBT coil drivers. They're managed by a 15 MHz micro-controller for extremely fast compensations and decisions. In the end, this creates incredibly accurate spark delivery, rev limiting, and timing functions. Throttle response and mid-range pull are also improved, due to a series of powerful multiple sparks that last for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation. There is a two-step rev limiter, which gives you one limit to set for holeshots and another for top-end performance. For engines using nitrous or extremely high cylinder pressures, you can also program a high-speed retard after the engine hits total timing. Both of these features are easy to adjust with the new built-in rotary dials. They also feature an ignition interrupt that will prevent the engine from starting by disabling the output to the coil, a retard feature that retards the timing at the top-end to prevent detonation, and an LED monitor that will alert you of a low supply of voltage or faulty input signals. Also, there is now a true step retard that can be activated through your nitrous solenoid wiring! The DIS-4 Plus ignitions are designed for 6 or 8-cylinder engines with three or four coil packs.
