When used with the Power Grid 7 system controller, these USB-compatible boxes offer advanced programming for ultimate control over your rpm and timing. They provide five retard stages for nitrous and four steps of rpm limits for burnouts, spool, launch, and overrev. MSD Power Grid 7 ignition boxes' output switch can be set on rpm, pressure, or time. Power Grid 7 ignition boxes have shift light settings for each gear, and the ignition data acquisition accepts multiple runs.

For racers that need serious spark output, the MSD Ultra 7AL ignition boxes are the right choice. Offering industry-leading spark energy output in a compact and efficient package, the Ultra 7AL includes four step retards, three rev limits and two rpm-activated switch outputs. The Ultra 7AL also features two different power output settings that can be used for on-the-fly changes which are perfect for drag-and-drive applications. All features are adjusted using plug-in modules including the 3-step rev control and multi-step retard. The rev control gives you the ability to set one rev limit for the burnout, another for the staging rpm limit and a third for use top end engine protection in the event of driveline failure. For nitrous fans, there are four separate stages that can be activated independently yet add up together. These Pro-Billet dual pickup distributors from MSD are specifically designed for Circle Track racing. Not only do they feature a strong, CNC-machined billet 6061-T6 aluminum housing and a large steel shaft, but they also feature two magnetic pickups for a complete redundant ignition system that can be activated at the flip of a switch. The pickups are triggered as a precision reluctor, mounted to the oversized shaft, spins past. The pickups are placed precisely 180 degrees apart so that when you switch to the secondary ignition, the timing remains constant. Guiding the distributor shaft is the responsibility of two sealed ball bearings for incredible endurance and high-end stability. The shaft also receives a QPQ coating for corrosion resistance and friction reduction. Additional features include a fully adjustable mechanical advance consisting of a hardened advance cam, chromoly weights, and weight pins that are TIG-welded to the advance plate. The entire assembly is welded to the polished steel. The advance assembly can also be easily locked out for quick tuning changes. The Chevrolet model features two O-ring grooves at the base of the CNC-machined housing to prevent oil in the lifter valley from leaking through the oil passage. If the engine deck, heads, or intake have been modified, there is an adjustable slip collar that allows you to set the correct installation depth. All dual pickup distributors include a cap and rotor.

When connected to the Power Grid, they will data log all the functions--including time from launch and time or rpm of activation and deactivation. These timing controllers feature four high-current, solid-state switches that can be configured independently or in conjunction by time, rpm, and temperature switching on/off, as well as by percentage for nitrous systems. Each channel is capable of handling 20 amps of current without the use of a relay and can be used to activate fan, fuel pump, nitrous oxide system, throttle stop, and more--the possibilities are endless.
