What do you get when you add a rev limiter to the MSD's already bulletproof 6M-2 marine ignitions? The MSD 6M-2Ls! These ignitions are designed for performance marine applications where a high-energy and reliable ignition is a necessity. The capacitive discharge (CD) multiple sparks from the 6-series circuitry ensure easier starting, improved performance, and reduced plug fouling while idling. The MSD 6M-2L ignitions have the same mounting footprint as the original units, so they will easily fit into existing brackets. The proven Soft-Touch rev limiting action is set using MSD's marine rpm modules, so you'll be able to set a rev limit exactly where your engine needs it. The 6M-2L ignitions are built to deal with constant high rpm and load conditions unique to marine applications. To protect the 6M-2Ls' electrical circuitry from direct water contact, the entire units are potted with red polyurethane. This material prevents the electrical components from coming into contact with water or other chemicals that could cause damage. Weathertight connectors with multi-ribbed seals are unaffected by water, oil, gasoline, and most other chemicals associated with boats. These Pro-Billet dual pickup distributors from MSD are specifically designed for Circle Track racing. Not only do they feature a strong, CNC-machined billet 6061-T6 aluminum housing and a large steel shaft, but they also feature two magnetic pickups for a complete redundant ignition system that can be activated at the flip of a switch. The pickups are triggered as a precision reluctor, mounted to the oversized shaft, spins past. The pickups are placed precisely 180 degrees apart so that when you switch to the secondary ignition, the timing remains constant. Guiding the distributor shaft is the responsibility of two sealed ball bearings for incredible endurance and high-end stability. The shaft also receives a QPQ coating for corrosion resistance and friction reduction.
