The new Ultra 6AL Plus ignition boxes deliver full MSD power in a compact, lighter package! The Ultra 6AL Series continues to use a high-speed controller that can make extremely quick compensations to the output voltage, multiple spark series, timing and rpm limits, while maintaining precise timing and accurate rev limiting. The circuits and controller of the MSD have been thoroughly filtered to create protection against Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI). Ultra 6AL Series features a capacitive discharge ignition design. (The majority of stock ignition systems are inductive ignitions, in which the coil must store and step up the voltage to maximum strength in between each firing. At higher RPM, since there's less time to charge the coil to full capacity, the voltage falls short of reaching maximum energy—which results in a loss of power or top end miss.) MSD Pro-Billet Crank Trigger Distributors

MSD Pro-Billet crank distributors are built specifically for racing engines with almost no room for a distributor, due to tunnel rams or blowers. These units are equipped with a special low-profile crab-style distributor cap, allowing them to fit into extremely tight areas. The housing features two optional O-rings at the bottom that improves oil control by preventing oil pressure loss. Also, a small oil bleed hole (located in the base) sprays oil on the distributor and camshaft gears to prevent excessive wear. Since these are racing distributors, there is an adjustable slip collar to make up for engines that have had the distance between the mounting surface and the gear modified. Crowning the Pro-Billet crank distributor is MSD's own crab cap. This incorporates spark plug-style terminals for a better connection and grip to the plug wires.
