Standard Motor alternator rectifiers are available for thousands of vehicle applications. These units in your assembly convert the AC (alternating current) that alternators produce into DC (direct current) for use by the vehicle's battery and electrical system. Harsh power demands on the rectifier can cause alternator diodes to fail. At that point, you may notice frequent engine stalls or dimming lights. A heim joint/rod end-style tension adjuster makes sure the belt can grip and make use of all the extra amperage. The alternator is painted a brilliant red to stand out, and includes mounting hardware and belt. With the alternator itself, you can expect a huge increase in output at idle, around 150 amps and a maximum output at driving or cruising rpms can achieve nearly 200 amps for the most demanding of components. Keep in mind, your OEM alternator is still supplying power as well.
