TurboStart voltage step down modules are recommended when using a 16 V battery in vehicles with an alternator--especially in long races. They are more effective than 3-post 16 V batteries (which can be susceptible to cell imbalance) in mixed voltage situations where sensitive 12 V components are used. The 12 V components can be connected to the voltage step down box to effectively "resistor" them. MechMan voltage boost harnesses increase the charging voltage by 1.0 V. Offered individually, they fit a range of GM trucks and SUVs with oval 4-pin alternator plug. The longer blue wire gets connected to an ignition switched 12 V+ source to turn the alternator on and off with ignition. These MechMan harnesses can be modified and hardwired to ignition 12 V+ for engine swap applications where the stock alternator harness is not available. NOTE: These voltage boost harnesses are NOT for use on standard 12 V AGM batteries. The modules will increase the charging voltage by 1.0 V and will swell and damage AGM batteries. Please check with your Lithium battery manufacturer to verify the proper charging voltage before installing this module.

MechMan adjustable external voltage regulators include a 2-pin alternator harness. These combos work with most OEM and MechMan Chrysler units from 1999-2006, and will allow the user to adjust charging voltage anywhere from 13.8 to 19.0 V. Please note: Installation of this unit will leave the OEM alternator harness unplugged, which will result in the check battery light in the dash staying on all the time. Compare the plug on your alternator to verify compatibility.
