If your racecar, Corvette, or race Corvette requires a distributor with a mechanical tach drive, these Pro-Billet Tach Drive distributors from MSD are what you need. Their race-proven magnetic pickup delivers precise trigger signals to your MSD ignition every time one of the reluctor's precision paddles pass by. This reluctor assembly is connected to an oversized steel shaft for increased strength and endurance, and is responsible for triggering the magnetic pickup. Inside the stout billet 6061-T6 aluminum housing, a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing guide the 0.500 in. steel shaft for high-rpm accuracy. Just above the reluctor is an adjustable mechanical advance assembly that lets you tailor a timing curve to match your engine's needs. This assembly is TIG welded for strength, and features chromoly weights and nylon pads to ensure smooth advance as the rpm increases. Corvette models feature a vacuum advance, and are available with or without an adjustable slip collar for engines that have had the deck height modified or use exotic intake manifolds. The distributors also feature a Rynite base. The tach drive assembly has a grease fitting for lubrication, is compact to clear the firewall and linkage, and can be repositioned easily to fit different applications. These distributors require the use of a separate ignition box, such as an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.

MSD's DIS Series ignition control boxes are designed to easily convert an early style engine from a conventional distributor and single coil setup to eight individual coils. One coil per cylinder means no moving parts in a distributor to control the timing and no cap and rotor to wear-out. Timing is digitally controlled ensuring precision accuracy at all rpms and every firing. The DIS has advanced timing and rev-limiter functions for racers such as individual cylinder timing: timing retards for boosted and nitrous applications, a two-step rev-limiter, and launch control to get your car out of the hole and even data acquisition to help keep everything in check. Additional features and benefits: * Fully programmable 2D and 3D Timing maps provide complete timing control * Individual Cylinder Timing (ICT) allows precise tuning * Easily converts to a coil-per-plug ignition system * Preprogrammed timing maps * Built-in 2.5 bar Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor for boosted applications * Fully potted electronics and sealed connectors for maximum durability * Easily programmable through a Mini-USB communication port * Programmable Max Rev and launch rpm limiters provide engine protection * Consistent Holeshot, thanks to Programmable Launch Timing Retard * Single timing step retard ideal for pulling timing for nitrous applications * Data acquisition allows you to keep an eye on all aspects of the ignition * Optional temperature sensor input to control timing based on temperature * Complete kits with all required components available

MechMan 6-phase hairpin high-output alternators offer a solution to the inadequate alternators that come from the factory on specified vehicles. These replacement units feature twin rectifiers with 12 massive press-fit diodes, as compared to the small 8-diode rectifier in the stock alternator. Even mild performance builds will typically consume more amperage than what stock alternators can provide. Hairpin stator technology provides better high-rpm durability and better resistance to heat from the turbo manifold. The alternators utilize a high rpm-friendly larger diameter pulley, and bolt directly in place of the original equipment. Select the high-output racing alternator model recommended for your application. Note: A 4-gauge or larger positive and negative cable needs to be run between the alternator and the battery terminals for proper function.

Standard Motor mass airflow sensors are higher quality, precision alternatives to remanufactured models. MAF sensors measure the amount of airflow entering the intake manifold and must communicate clearly with your vehicle's Engine Control Module (ECM). Remanufactured components with debris from prior use can hinder this communication and cause your vehicle to experience drivability issues. With many new—not remanufactured—MAF sensors in the Standard lineup, they cover more than 90 percent of all MAF-equipped vehicles, and all are airflow-calibrated to ensure accuracy. SMP-manufactured sensors are designed with improvements such as thicker walls, upgraded components, and a custom-designed platinum RTD sensor. The result is a line of MAF sensors that provide highly accurate readings and precise airflow output under all operating conditions. Order the model designed for your car, truck, or van.

Standard Motor Products MAP sensors are direct, high-quality replacements for your vehicle's worn, damaged, or malfunctioning manifold absolute pressure sensor. These sensors accurately produce voltage or frequency as manifold pressure changes, and the computer uses this information to measure engine load so that the ignition timing can be advanced and retarded as needed. On engines with a speed density type of fuel injection, the MAP sensors also help the PCM estimate airflow. Malfunctioning MAP sensors can often cause problems such as an intermittent check engine light, hesitation when accelerating, elevated emissions, and poor engine performance. Keep your vehicle in top operating condition with Standard Motor Products MAP sensors.

MSD Pro-Billet distributors share the same CNC machining techniques as the rest of the MSD distributor line. They feature a housing that's machined from high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum for durability and show-quality looks. Their oversized shaft receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and corrosion resistance, with the added strength of two sealed ball bearings that guide the shaft accurately at well over 10,000 rpm. An extra-long sintered bushing replaces the ball bearing at the bottom of Chevrolet models. TIG-welded on top of the polished steel shaft is MSD's accurate mechanical advance assembly. The weights are supported by nylon pads that allow the advance to operate smoothly throughout the rpm range. For all-out racing, the advance mechanism can also be easily locked out. To accurately trigger the ignition, a high-output magnetic pickup is bolted to the base. This pickup produces a precise trigger signal that will never vary more than one degree at any rpm. A durable gear is installed for performance applications, and an MSD red cap with brass terminals and race rotor is supplied. They're available in standard and small diameter models for applications with limited clearance, and require the use of a separate ignition box such as an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.
