The new Ultra 6AL Plus ignition boxes deliver full MSD power in a compact, lighter package! The Ultra 6AL Series continues to use a high-speed controller that can make extremely quick compensations to the output voltage, multiple spark series, timing and rpm limits, while maintaining precise timing and accurate rev limiting. The circuits and controller of the MSD have been thoroughly filtered to create protection against Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI). Ultra 6AL Series features a capacitive discharge ignition design. These MSD Ford Blaster Coil-on-Plug ignition coil packs feature a patented winding design and direct bolt-in replacement. The improved spark energy and voltage of the coil packs, combined with their reliability, have made them a favorite of performance enthusiasts. They are designed as direct bolt-in replacement coils for many SOHC Ford V8 modular engines. The housing and installation are the same as the factory coils, but that is where the similarity ends. This is accomplished through the use of an advanced Hall-effect style pickup, which is then converted to a signal that most CD ignition controls accept. The benefit of a Hall-effect pickup is: there is no retard, commonly called magnetic pickup compensation—so you can ensure your timing remains stable from idle to race rpm. Inside the CNC-machined billet housing is a polished stainless steel shaft that is supported with sealed ball bearing on the top and a long bushing on the bottom.
