MSD Soft Touch Rev Controllers
There are two ways to limit your rpms. The rough way simply cuts off ignition spark, which can cause backfiring, extreme engine roughness, and possible engine damage. The gentle way is with these MSD Soft Touch rev controllers. They use sophisticated computer circuitry to drop spark one cylinder at a time, until your engine is at or below its maximum rpm. Those cylinders are then fired on the next cycle, to prevent them from loading up with fuel. The result is smooth rev limiting action without all the rough stuff. There are two versions of the Soft Touch rev controllers--one for MSD's 6T, 6TN, 6HVC ignitions, and one for OEM electronic and points ignitions. MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run EFI distributors are the perfect upgrade when you start making serious power with your EFI Ford or Chevy. They use a stock-style trigger pickup and come with plug-in connectors. Installation is simple by removing the stock distributor, then plugging in and bolting the new one in place! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. These distributors will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting, and perform at a much higher rpm. Their housings are machined from billet aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes. For stability and endurance, an oversized steel shaft spins in a top-mounted sealed ball bearing for accuracy through the entire rpm range. MSD Pro-Billet Street distributors are a popular choice for those who desire race-proven performance for their street machine. A vacuum advance canister provides improved economy, and the proven MSD mechanical advance mechanism allows you to dial in a timing curve to fit your needs. As always, an advance kit of springs and stop bushings is included. The housing features an all-billet 6061-T6 aluminum design for accuracy to within .001 in. An oversized steel shaft is QPQ-coated for low friction, and rides in sealed ball bearings at the top and bottom of the distributor. MSD engineers drew upon their experience with Top Fuel cars and created these new HVC-2 coils for use with the MSD 6 Series Ignition Controls. These coils utilize an iron U-Core design with a segmented bobbin for improved voltage distribution. The bobbin is molded from Dupont Rynite FR946 and wound specifically to create an effective coil with incredible voltage capabilities, lightning quick rise time, and lengthy spark duration. The housing, also molded from Rynite material, features far-spaced brass primary terminals and a well-protected secondary tower for increased spark isolation.
