MSD 7AL-3 Ignition Boxes
MSD 7AL-3 ignition boxes have been a favorite of sportsmen and racers that want adjustments at their fingertips. For nitrous fans, there are four separate stages that can be activated independently yet add up together. Plus there's an RPM Activated Switch for precise control over a circuit. These ignitions combine high-output spark energy for high-compression race engines, combined with the most popular drag racing accessories, including a 3-step rev limiter, 4-stage retards, a start retard, and an rpm-activated switch. MSD is re-launching the 7AL-3s with upgraded features, a new look, and updated internal components, including surface mount circuitry. The new 7AL-3s are easy to spot with a black anodized housing and a new adjustable start retard circuit. MSD Programmable Digital-7 Plus CD Ignitions
MSD Programmable Digital-7 CD Plus ignitions have an output power and Individual Cylinder Management timing system that are hard to beat. At the heart of these ignitions is a 15 MHz micro-controller that analyzes and manages every trigger signal. Their capacitive discharge circuits and state-of-the-art IGBT coil drivers work together to deliver a potent spark that can easily handle high cylinder pressures. Below 3,300 rpm, a series of sparks burn in the cylinder over 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation, producing a smooth idle with great throttle response. You can control all of this spark energy through an array of timing and rpm programs. These programs include: Individual cylinder timing that can program up to 10 degrees per cylinder in .1 degree increments, a launch retard that lets you retard the timing up to 15 degrees for 0-2.5 seconds after the launch, a launch timing curve, and a run curve enabling you to plot a timing curve in .1 degree increments per 100 rpm. They also feature a three-step retard, a gear retard that can retard timing up to 5 degrees with every gear change, a start retard, three rev limiters, a shift light, and an rpm-activated window switch. You can also map a complete timing curve for every gear, set stage retards to ramp timing, see updated X-Y plots with interpolation for smooth changes, view all ignition events in a new Launch History window, acquire 20 seconds of run data including two seconds prior to launch, program an rpm that is ramped in during the launch, and select vacuum advance and boost retard through a MAP sensor. They can be used on 4, 6, or 8-cylinder engines, and are supplied with the Pro-Data Plus software, PC harness, vibrations mounts, and wiring. An optional hand-held MSD Programmer Monitor is available separately.

MSD Smart Coils
MSD Smart Coils were developed to produce more spark energy while consuming less power without sacrificing voltage output. This means you get hotter spark at the plug to burn the maximum amount of fuel in each cylinder while using less power from your electrical system. Smart Coils are compatible with popular aftermarket electronic fuel injection systems and will run on traditional 12 V or 16 V electrical systems found in race applications. The coils feature unique elongated mounting holes to accommodate popular mounting brackets or allow them to bolt in place of an LS coil with 72mm bolt spacing.

MSD Pro Power Coils
When tested against a competitor's coil, the MSD Pro Power coils produced 33 percent more current at the plug. They have an oil-filled insulated polyester case, an extra-tall high-tension spark plug tower to stop voltage leaks, and rubber shock mounts. They're designed for drag race use only, with MSD 7 and 8 Series ignitions.

MSD Pro-Billet Front Drive Distributors
MSD's Pro-Billet front drive distributors are the solution for race engines that don't have room for a standard distributor, due to firewall clearance or intake combinations. They're run by a wide 9mm belt that is driven by a pulley installed on the camshaft. The belt is wider than any other drive assembly for increased strength and durability. The distributor head is CNC-machined from billet aluminum and is secured to a stout billet aluminum bracket for strength. This system is an extremely accurate way to distribute the spark energy in harsh racing conditions. The distributors have a built-in belt adjustment feature for easy tension adjustments, and a band clamp mount for easy rotor phasing adjustments. They include MSD's Pro-Cap that is injection-molded from Dupont Rynite material for high dielectric strength, and the five in. diameter ensures accurate spark delivery. The distributors are supplied with mounting bolts, a cam pulley, hardware, and a drive belt. They must be used with a Jesel camshaft belt drive kit and an MSD Flying Magnet crank trigger.

MSD 12 Amp Electronic Points Boxes
MSD Ignition 12 amp electronic points boxes control the spark duration and the unique full power firing sequence of several magneto units, including the Pro Mag 12, Pro Mag 12LT, and Pro Mag 20. The energy from the generator is controlled with Field Effect Transistor (FET) technology, which is far superior to mags still using points as a trigger source. FETs are considerably more accurate and durable—and are capable of handling much more current. This is why the Pro Mag can deliver full energy sparks throughout the entire rpm range of the engine, while conventional magnetos fall short of full power at high racing rpm. Plus, these advanced points boxes keep each spark glowing for up to 26 degrees of crankshaft rotation.

MSD DIS-4 Plus HO Digital Ignitions
DIS-4 Plus HO digital ignitions are higher-output versions of the DIS ignition controls from MSD. They're designed for full race engines running high boost pressures from turbos, blowers, or nitrous. Their increased output will light up fuel mixtures even under these extreme cylinder pressures. Your late model distributorless ignition system will never be the same! The capacitive discharge ignitions feature multi-channel capability, complemented with multiple sparks, two rev limiters, and a timing control. These DIS ignitions are engineered with the latest in digital science, including power MOSFET technology and efficient IGBT coil drivers. They're managed by a 15 MHz micro-controller for extremely fast compensations and decisions. In the end, this creates incredibly accurate spark delivery, rev limiting, and timing functions. Throttle response and mid-range pull are also improved, due to a series of powerful multiple sparks that last for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation. There is a two-step rev limiter, which gives you one limit to set for holeshots and another for top-end performance. For engines using nitrous or extremely high cylinder pressures, you can also program a high-speed retard after the engine hits total timing. Both of these features are easy to adjust with the new built-in rotary dials. They also feature an ignition interrupt that will prevent the engine from starting by disabling the output to the coil, a retard feature that retards the timing at the top end to prevent detonation, and an LED monitor that will alert you of a low supply of voltage or faulty input signals. Also, there is now a true step retard that can be activated through your nitrous solenoid wiring! The DIS-4 HO Plus digital ignitions are designed for 6 or 8-cylinder engines with three or four coil packs.
