MSD distributorless ignition tachometer adapters allow you to install an aftermarket tachometer on vehicles with no distributor and multiple coil packs. These compact tach drivers measure only 1.5"x 3.5"x 2" and are potted with a polyurethane compound for vibration and water protection so it can easily be mounted under the hood. It wires inline on the coils' 12 volt supply wire where it senses the current going through the wire and converts this information into a 12 volt output signal that most aftermarket tachometers use as a trigger signal. Convert your OEM-style breaker points and condenser to the more reliable Unilite ignition from Mallory. These self-contained units have no moving parts to wear out, so they provide many years of trouble-free service. Simply replace the points with the Unilite module, which consists of a photo coupler, signal processor, and power switch. Each time the shutter wheel stops the infrared light from reaching the photo coupler, the electronic circuitry energizes the ignition coil. When the shutter wheel allows the light to reach the photo coupler, the stored energy in the coil discharges. These kits can drive both OEM and high-performance ignition coils, and are designed for 12 V negative ground systems.

Single fire ignitions eliminate many Harley® backfire problems and enhance idle quality. Daytona Twin Tec high output single fire coils use separate coil windings to fire each spark plug independently, only on the compression stroke.
