The stator is the heart of the charging system on your motorcycle, ATV, or UTV. They consist of a series of coils mounted on a ring that work in conjunction with your rotor/flywheel to create AC current. This AC current is then converted to DC via the rectifier, and from there it can charge your battery and power lights, ignition, engine management, electronics, and other accessories. Also, in some dirt bikes and other off-road applications, stators can function on their own, with no battery or regulator/rectifier.

The stator is the heart of the charging system on your motorcycle, ATV, or UTV.
