They combine fit and performance with a fully enclosed solenoid. These starters are protected from the elements and from damaging heat, and can be rotated 360 degrees to fit around headers and other parts in tight engine bays. With a 4.4:1 gear ratio and 200 lbs.-ft. torque rating, the Stealth has enough power to handle high-compression engines. On the inside, we gave them specially wound copper field coils, heat-resistant solenoids, low-carbon brushes, and thick-barred armatures for fail-free performance under high-temperature conditions. The rotating assemblies spin on heat-treated shafts that ride in Bendix bearings for reliability and long life. These starters fit all Chevys with a 168-tooth ring gear and a staggered bolt pattern.
