Summit Racing™ Multi-Spark Digital Capacitive Discharge Ignitions
Summit Racing™ multi-spark digital capacitive discharge ignition boxes use cutting-edge microprocessor controls to create hot, consistent sparks for performance throughout the powerband. These capacitive discharge systems create a powerful 100 mJ spark at full voltage, with multiple sparks below 3,000 rpm to improve starting ability, idle quality, and throttle response, while preventing plug fouling due to cylinder load-up. They have a 470V primary/45,000V secondary output, plus a built-in rev limiter-just use the rotary dials to set it anywhere from 2,000 to 9,900 rpm. The lightweight cast aluminum housing has a durable metallic silver powdercoat finish, and the ignition comes with direct plug-in connectors for most 2-wire distributors (including points and magnetic pickups), installation hardware, labeled wiring, optional Weather Pack connectors, optional vibration-resistant mounts, and detailed instructions.

Summit Racing™ Digital RTR Plus Billet Distributors
We've taken our original Ready-to-Run billet distributors and upped the ante with our Summit Racing™ Digital RTR (Ready-to-Run) Plus billet distributors. They now feature a digital module with a 7.5 amp rated dwell control circuit for maximum energy output. They deliver 400 volts and 125mJ of spark energy to the coil and upwards of 50,000 volts from the coil to the spark plugs. We've also added a single-stage rev limiter with a simple "tap to ground" process of the tachometer lead attached to the module to set the limiter. The tachometer dual purpose lead also produces a 25 percent duty cycle, square wave signal, so it can be used with multifunction tachometers and most popular aftermarket EFI systems. Another bonus feature of our digital technology is a fully automatic start retard. This built-in feature provides 4 degrees of timing retard during cranking and is fully dialed out by 300 rpm. This gives you easier and quicker hot restarts while lowering the initial start load on the starter and electrical system. With all these upgraded features, you're assured of peak output throughout all RPM ranges, quicker hot starts, EFI capability and the reliability of digital technology. The distributors still have the same lightweight, forged, precision CNC-machined aluminum housing for strength and stability; polished steel shafts with sealed ball bearings for stable operation through 10,000 rpm; and a maintenance-free, high-output magnetic trigger for accurate and reliable performance. All distributors come with a high-quality, 30 percent glass-filled PBT cap and rotor with brass terminals and contacts. An ignition box is not required for use with Summit Racing™ Digital RTR Plus billet distributors except when used with an aftermarket EFI system. Select the model recommended for your car, truck, or van. These Ready-to-Run distributors must use a coil with .5 to .7 Ohms primary resistance and 5 to 7 mH primary inductance.

Summit Racing™ offers GM high-energy modules with rev limiters that enable you to adjust the rpm limit from 5,000 to 9,500 rpm. They are high performance modules built for HEI distributors, producing 50 percent higher coil drive currents than the stock module. This saturates the coil faster, delivering more spark energy at top speeds. Your benefits are increased horsepower and rpm range, plus improved starting. GM HEI modules replace all 4-pin modules used in HEI distributors with a vacuum advance canister. They can be used with factory or aftermarket HEI distributors.

We've come up with an innovative way to mount a variety of ignition boxes and coils securely on any flat surface using our Summit Racing™ ignition box mounting brackets. Designed to fit our SUM-850610 and SUM-850620 boxes or a number of MSD 6 series boxes.
