They use an integrated Ignitor II® electronic ignition with variable dwell that maintains peak energy throughout the entire rpm range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance. The distributors develop, on average, four times more available energy between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm and two times more available plug voltage. Peak current level is reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without the heat buildup, increasing ignition coil and module life. They allow you to upgrade your outdated points or stock electronic distributor with a performance-proven unit. The distributors feature the patented Ignitor II® electronic ignition module and a CNC-machined 6061 T-6 polished billet housing. PerTronix electronics are compatible with any inductive ignition system coil, but high-rpm performance can be improved when they are used with the low-resistance (0.6 ohm) Flame-Thrower II coil. Their stand-alone design makes them plug-in units that require no additional ignition, but they are compatible with multi-spark CD ignition boxes for outstanding versatility.
