MSD Blaster HVC ignition coils are designed for high-rpm, long-duration applications, such as road course and Circle Track racing using the MSD 6 Series ignition. These units feature a 100:1 turns ratio, as well as lower primary resistance to produce high-voltage output. Windings are encased in a durable epoxy and secured with extruded brackets. They also feature a spark plug style terminal and a threaded brass primary stud. These ignition coils are CARB EO-approved and are supplied with rubber shock mounts to help them resist coil vibration. MSD Pro-Billet locked-out distributors are built from strong billet aluminum for engines that run locked-out timing or an MSD timing computer. With no advance assembly, the rotor plate is welded directly to the oversized shaft. A sealed ball bearing guides the top of the shaft, while an extra-long sintered bushing stabilizes the lower portion. This extra support ensures stable and accurate timing signals throughout your engine's entire rpm range. Trigger signals are produced via a high-output magnetic pickup. This pickup is extremely accurate and never requires adjustment. A precision-manufactured reluctor is responsible for triggering the pickup. Since these distributors are designed primarily for race engines, an oversized (+.006 in.) bronze gear is installed, along with an adjustable slip collar for modified blocks, heads, or intake manifolds.

These MSD 2-step rev controllers coupled with MSD's digital 6AL ignition box let you choose from two different rpm limits that can be activated at different times. For example, you can use a lower-rpm setting for staging and then automatically switch to a higher-rpm setting after you release your trans-brake or line lock. The 2-Step is also digitally controlled and connects to the Digital 6AL's gray tach output wire. There are two easy to read rotary dials that let you set the launch rpm in 100 rpm increments from 2,000-11,800 rpm. There is an activation wire that connects to the transbrake, a clutch switch or to the line-lock to activate the low rpm limit. When that switch is released, the low rpm limit is turned off and the car launches hard!

The MSD 6 HVC-L CD ignitions are powerful new systems designed primarily for Circle Track and events that require high rpm for a long duration. Only the best high-end components have been put into this exclusive design for more output energy and voltage, with less current draw. Each transformer is hand-wound for more power at lower temperatures. Field Effect transistors accept higher loads than standard transistors. A faster, more efficient Integrated Gate Bi-Polar transistor improves coil saturation. They feature an optimum heat sink that gives increased heat dissipation, large capacitors that give you full-strength sparks at any rpm, a rev limiter, and a clear silicone casing that protects circuits from vibration. MSD wired them with NASCAR-mandated, 6-pin, weathertight connectors and a special 4-pin connector plug that connects directly into MSD's Soft Touch rev control, which is available separately.

MSD coil wire retainers solve the problem of the coil wire coming loose from the tower of the coil. The hood holds the boot securely in the coil. The lower portion of the retainers snaps around the body of the coil under the flange, and is held in place with a nylon tie wrap. Some coils are shorter than others, so a spacer ring is included. This combination keeps the coil wire in place even under severe racing conditions.
