FAST XDi Sportsman Distributors
FAST XDi Sportsman distributors are designed to deliver the most accurate trigger signal possible throughout the entire rpm range of your race engine. This is accomplished through the use of an advanced Hall-effect style pickup, which is then converted to a signal that most CD ignition controls accept. The benefit of a Hall-effect pickup is: there is no retard, commonly called magnetic pickup compensation—so you can ensure your timing remains stable from idle to race rpm. Inside the CNC-machined billet housing is a polished stainless steel shaft that is supported with sealed ball bearing on the top and a long bushing on the bottom. They've also reduced end play in the distributor to take out any timing variations and damage to the gear. FAST XDi distributors are supplied with high-quality rotors and caps, and are available with a large diameter Ford-style cap or smaller diameter GM points size cap with HEI terminals, as well as either a steel or bronze gear. FAST Magnetic Crank Trigger Kits
FAST magnetic crank trigger kits are setting the new industry standard for timing accuracy while preserving compatibility with other brands' ignition systems. Crank triggers are known to provide the most accurate crankshaft rotation measurement; however, modern fuel injection systems and sophisticated testing equipment have exposed inadequacies in traditional crank trigger designs. To correct for timing fluctuations in high-rpm racing applications, FAST engineers replaced the fluctuation prone 2-wire inductive pick-up with a modern digital hall-effect design. This digital hall-effect pick-up, coupled with samarium cobalt magnets installed in the trigger wheel, result in crank rotation measurements that are accurate to a quarter of a degree from zero to 13,000 engine rpm. These pickups are far less susceptible to electromagnetic noise interference than 2-wire designs. Additionally, the pick-up accuracy is unaffected by electrical system voltage variations—maintaining quarter-degree timing accuracy from 7 V to 30 V DC. Outputting a clean square-wave signal, FAST magnetic crank trigger kits can trigger ignition boxes directly or integrate with EFI systems such as the FAST EZ-EFI 2.0, XFI Sportsman, and XFI 2.0. An integral LED eases timing calibration and diagnostics. These kits don't sacrifice durability for technological innovation. Crafted from billet aluminum then black anodized, the trigger wheels and pick-up brackets will withstand harsh racing environments.
