The AFX Racing AstroVette LMP12 Mega G+ HO slot cars are a Limited Edition, individually numbered with only 3,000 produced worldwide. AstroVettes, as they were called, came with the thunderous roar of a 427 Turbo-Jet V-8 engine, 4-speed wide-range transmission, and 390 hp. The gold body donned black-painted "wings" designed by iconic stylist Alex Tremulis, evoking the colors of the Apollo 12 module. This AFX slot car represents the Corvette used by lunar module pilot Alan Bean. The fourth person to walk on the moon, Alan said driving his AstroVette was the one thing that compared to the thrill of flying through space. The Mega-G+ is easily the lightest chassis you can buy. Part of Chevrolet's SS ("Super Sporting") line of automobiles, the 1971 Chevelle was loaded with a long list of impressive performance features. Sporting a black-accented grille with the SS emblem, this 1:18 scale version of the popular coupe is equipped with all of the stylistic details, both inside and out. Wide sport stripes lining the hood and trunk lids (both of which can be opened) and four rubber tires emblazoned with the Goodyear logo add to the car's authentic look. Along with a detailed dashboard and two functional doors, the Chevelle comes with a working steering wheel that will move the two front tires, and realistic-looking bucket seats.
