Their wood enclosure (except WR-2CL) is acoustically balanced and the large, ported, front-firing speaker provides a rich, full sound. Dynamic bass compensation and a 7 Watt amplifier give this small radio an outstanding audio presence. Although eminently modern, these radios leave a "classic" impression. The WR-2s have some nice, advanced features. You may control these radios with their included IR remote control. They will display Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS) text messages from any RBDS-encoding FM station. Their RBDS clock-set function will acquire the time from the RBDS signal and load it into your radio for you... automatically! Their clock may be set to display 12 or 24-hour time. The LCD backlight has three different levels of brightness or may be turned off. A super-capacitor backup allows these radios to continue to run for a short time during a power failure, with preset information retained for up to about 30 minutes.
