Tanks Inc. fuel level sending unit floats are a component that rises and falls with the fuel level, transferring this position to a variable resistor. This movement, via a connected rod, alters the electrical resistance to send a signal to the fuel gauge, which translates it into a visible fuel level reading. These replacement float arms are for Tanks' universal 5-bolt senders. The rod is 17 in. long, connected to a round ball or square black foam type float.

Offered in an 8 or 9 in. depth for 5- and 10-gallon or 15- and 20-gallon fuel cells respectively, both styles have a tube design that acts as a damper, saves space, and eliminates the need for a float arm. They are 0 to 90 ohms (empty-full) to work with most aftermarket gauges, have a standard SAE 5-bolt mounting pattern, and include gasket and mounting hardware. These units contain an SAE standard 5-hole metal mounting flange and body components, which can be adjusted from 6 in. to 23 in. tank depth, and are adaptable to right or left hand swingarm. For maximum durability, the wiper and thick film resistor are shielded (from fuel slosh) and the float arm stops to ensure the wiper remains in contact with its resistor board when tank is full or low.
