Funk Motorsports offers turbo heat shields for a wide range of (universal) applications, as well as vehicle-specific models for select BMW, Honda, Ford, and Subaru vehicles from 2002 and up. These turbo and/or turbo wastegate thermal blankets work to insulate the hot side and retain the heat within the exhaust gasses themselves. Hotter gasses accelerate faster, leading to them leaving the system sooner—improving spool up and throttle response. Insulating the turbo also helps to lower the amount of heat that dissipates into the engine bay and intake pipework. A cooler intake results in higher performance and more consistent power figures over time.
