Plus, these headers afford you that extra bit of clearance needed for complex steering setups and narrow frame rails, while still allowing adequate spark plug clearance. Patriot Lakester headers adds nostalgia to your hot rod. Their classic Lakester design allows for hookup to an under chassis exhaust system, but by removing the provided block-off plates you can easily uncork your headers. Finishes available for Patriot Lakester headers: * Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating (MCTBC), which is polished with a vibratory finishing process that not only produces a high-luster aluminum appearance, but also compresses and activates the coating, which increases the surface hardness. The finish is 60 percent more corrosion resistant than an unpolished surface, easy to maintain, and will last for years under normal operation conditions. MCTBC also protects and extends the life of headers by creating a thermal barrier (heat-resistant up to 1,600 degrees F) that significantly lowers under hood temperatures and protects the substrate metal from thermal fatigue. * Hi-Temp black coating is an affordably priced alternative to their MCTBC. This finish provides good corrosion and heat protection when compared to many of the "cheaper" header finishes being applied by our competitors.
