COBB Tuning Subaru catted downpipes begin with a CAD-designed, investment-cast, turbine outlet that directs the exhaust and opens the diameter of the exhaust tubing coming out of the turbocharger … unleashing power restrictive stock units choke off. The shape of the outlet flange smoothly blends the turbo and wastegate gases and is configured with a bung to accommodate the first O2 sensor. This design permits the exhaust to flow with very little turbulence to the single, highly-efficient, high-flow catalytic converter. This one-piece 400-grade stainless steel cat has a much greater flow rate and a longer lifespan than ceramic or brick-style cats. It also reaches operating temperature faster for cleaner cold-start emissions. A second O2 sensor bung is located immediately after the cat. The end piping tapers down to a flange that uses the OE donut gasket and factory spring bolts to aid in flexibility, longevity, and proper fitment.
