Heatshield Products Lava Hot Rod Sleeves

Prevent vapor lock and shift cables from melting with Lava hot rod sleeves from Heatshield Products. The heat shields for fuel lines combine the best of two worlds, the flexibility of a rugged hot rod sleeve with the strength of lava rock fiber. Lava fiber is naturally acid, chemical, brake fluid, and chemical-resistant. Additionally, the fiber is 25 percent stronger than fiberglass and is abrasion-resistant. The special braid of these tube heat shield sleeves allows them to have an expandable inside diameter up to 15 percent. To expand the inside diameter, shorten the length or bunch up the Lava hot rod sleeve to allow it to slide on over fittings and terminals. Once over, expand or stretch the length to tighten the sleeve onto the line or hose. To cut, use a sharp knife or pair of scissors. Each kit includes four heat shrinks to seal the ends of the oil line heat shield sleeve to the cable, tube, or hose it is protecting. Remember a loose-fitting heat shield sleeve is okay if the ends are sealed to prevent heat from getting trapped between the sleeve and the component it is protecting. Funk Motorsports offers turbo heat shields for a wide range of (universal) applications, as well as vehicle-specific models for select BMW, Honda, Ford, and Subaru vehicles from 2002 and up. These turbo and/or turbo wastegate thermal blankets work to insulate the hot side and retain the heat within the exhaust gasses themselves. Hotter gasses accelerate faster, leading to them leaving the system sooner—improving spool up and throttle response. Insulating the turbo also helps to lower the amount of heat that dissipates into the engine bay and intake pipework. A cooler intake results in higher performance and more consistent power figures over time. The 4-layer shields are offered in three finishes: titanium twill, carbon fiber twill, and inside out (for turbos in contact with a heat source). Additional details: * Inside-out blankets have internal material mirrored on the outside, as well * Available for a variety of turbocharger and wastegate styles * A turbo is an absolute furnace within the engine bay. Excess heat produced by the turbo can cause devastation to surrounding sensitive components. MagnaFlow universal catalytic converters by Car Sound form the basic building blocks for many applications. The main benefit of universal catalytic converters is that one unit may cover a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. Installing universal converters often requires the use of welding, cutting, and tube-bending equipment that is readily available to most professional installers. They are extremely well made, with features such as: * A ribbed body that minimizes expansion and distortion when the converter heats up. They form a channel that protects the cushioning mat from direct exposure to exhaust gasses, and hold the ceramic catalyst in proper alignment. * A 1/2 in. lap joint where the necks meet the body. The neck does not extend into the converter body, where it could hamper exhaust flow. * Manufactured with separate dies on different sized inlets. Putting larger neck sizes on smaller bodies would reduce the flow of the converter and the quality of the product. * A monolithic honeycomb catalyst. The ceramic is designed for maximum flow and surface area. The coating method is strictly controlled to maintain exact specifications. * Seam-welded close to the converter body for a strong, tight bond. Welding along the edge could allow the converter to expand like the folds in an accordion, allowing the catalyst to move around. * Heavier-gauge stainless steel, tip-to-tip. They do not use inferior mixed weights and materials. * An aluminized or stainless OEM-style ribbed heat shield that creates a rigid wall of protection against heat and adds to the structural stability of the converter.
