S&S Cycle Oil Pump Kits

If you're overhauling an older motorcycle engine or building a lubrication system from scratch, consider the turnkey ease of S&S Cycle oil pump kits. They offer the same width oil supply and return gears as a stock Harley-Davidson® aluminum pump, but these driveshaft gears increase potential oil volume delivery by 25 percent over stock on some engines. S&S pumps are machined with an oil pressure bleed-off passage, relieving pressure build-up on top of the valve to maintain consistent oil pressure. Excess oil is also routed directly to the supply side of the pump to reduce the amount returned to the tank—which means less foaming and cavitation. The kits are available for a variety of bikes, including Big Twin models. S&S Cycle Oil Pump Driveshaft Woodruff Keys

S&S Cycle offers oil pump driveshaft woodruff keys for a wide range of Harley-Davidson© street bikes from 1936 through 2000. The semi-circular shaped machine keys fit into a specially cut slot (called a keyway) on a shaft, preventing gears, hubs, or other components from rotating independently on that shaft. They essentially act as a locking mechanism to keep parts aligned and prevent slippage during rotation. These steel replacements are machined according to factory specs to ensure proper fitment and performance. The keys are available individually or in a set of 10.

S&S Cycle pinion and oil pump gear kits assist with the proper installation of S&S flywheel assemblies in specific-year motorcycle engines. S&S states that their experiences have shown the design of pinion shafts for 1990-99 big twin engines that accept stock gear kits are not strong enough for performance applications. Therefore, they do not offer a replacement shaft, and instead only offer pre-1990-style pinion shafts. These pinion shaft conversion kits are color-coded and will make the change easier. They include pinion gear, spacer, nut, and oil pump drive gear.

Kits include all parts needed for converting to solid lifters: four non-adjustable steel pushrods and four adjustable lifter inserts to replace the stock hydraulic units.
