In the 1950s, auto manufacturers switched from cartridge-style oil filters to spin-on filters. So, if you’ve got a vintage engine, but you want to use a modern oil filter, you’ll probably need one of these oil filter adapters. Some adapters have additional features, like oil cooler fittings, remote filter adapters, or bypass eliminators. They might also allow you to reorient the filter for better access, or mount the filter remotely.

Moroso Oil Filter Sandwich Adapters
Moroso sandwich oil filter adapters are designed to eliminate the need for a remote filter will still allowing a remote oil cooler or accumulator. The adapter mounts to the spin-on oil filter pocket on the engine and has an oil filter pocket built into the bottom. The ports allow oil to run to a remote cooler or an accumulator without the need of relocating the oil filter. Best of all, the Moroso sandwich oil filter adapters can be clocked so the fittings are where they need to be for maximum clearance.
