Direct from Chevrolet Performance are these 454 c.i.d. bare engine blocks. These are special Gen. VI bare iron blocks with 4.25 in. cylinder bores with 4-bolt main bearing caps. They have machined fuel pump pads, a one-piece rear main seal design, and standard 454 deck height. The maximum cylinder bore on these blocks is 4.25 in. plus .060 in. O.S., and will require the "Gen V/GenVI" design one-piece oil pan.

Improved Racing's engine block oil galley barbell plugs feature a second O-ring that completely seals off the dirty oil from the clean oil, forcing 100 percent of the flow through the filter. Sharp corners were avoided and machined as smooth fillets to improve oil flow, while the bull nose tip helps smooth oil flow to the oil filter. The shaft diameter is smaller than the OEM plastic barbell to minimize flow restriction, and the threaded hole allows for easy removal with any 4mm x 0.7 threaded screw. Replace a worn out or old rear oil passage plug with Moroso oil galley barbell plugs. Your vehicle's old plug could be allowing dirty engine oil to bypass the oil filter.
