These new clean sheet designed aftermarket blocks are cast in a modern state-of-the-art German foundry on brand new molds and machined in USA on modern high-speed machining centers that can hold the tightest of tolerances. Why start your engine build with a dirty, old, worn-out production block that needs hundreds or thousands of dollars of machine work--when you can start with a new heavy-duty casting full of high-performance features. We ship these blocks mostly finished but leave the cylinder bore .005" undersize, your machine shop will have to hone them for proper size. Improved Racing's engine block oil galley barbell plugs feature a second O-ring that completely seals off the dirty oil from the clean oil, forcing 100 percent of the flow through the filter. Sharp corners were avoided and machined as smooth fillets to improve oil flow, while the bull nose tip helps smooth oil flow to the oil filter. The shaft diameter is smaller than the OEM plastic barbell to minimize flow restriction, and the threaded hole allows for easy removal with any 4mm x 0.7 threaded screw. Canton Racing has designed these main cap girdles to reinforce the alignment of the main caps and counter the limited webbing and weaknesses of those stock blocks. These main cap supports are laser-cut from 1/2 in. to 5/8 in. steel and feature CNC-machined mounting holes and rod notches for stroke clearance. Canton Racing main cap girdles tie directly to the caps, eliminating the need for bushings, spacers, or machining of the main caps for installation. Improved Racing oil cooler adapters have a low-profile for more header clearance. The adapters are machined from a single piece of billet aluminum and black anodized. For additional clearance with reliable sealing, they come with aluminum gaskets fitted with Viton® seals, and the adapter mounting holes are counter-bored so the mounting bolts fit flush with the adapter surface. Select Improved Racing oil cooler adapters are also available with a built-in thermostat. Oil coolers help prevent the oil from getting too hot, but are also prone to lowering oil temperatures too much, especially in colder weather or during highway driving. Canton Racing SBC rear main seal adapters convert your 1986 and later blocks with one-piece rear main seals to accept an older style 2-piece seal crankshaft. These adapters are essential when installing an early-style (1985 and earlier) crankshaft into 1986 and later blocks. When using these adapters, an oil pan for a 1985 and earlier block with a right side dipstick must be used. They are made from billet aluminum and hardware is included.

When mating a transmission to an engine, proper alignment of the 2 can get difficult. It's also critical to make sure the bellhousing and block dowels index correctly to get the bolts started. Summit Racing™ Transmission Alignment Guide pins simulate the bolts and assist with alignment by threading into the engine block to help guide the two together. The pins are tapered and the heads are slotted, so you mate the two together, start a couple of bellhousing bolts and then you can take a small screwdriver and remove them and replace them with the proper bolts. Make your next transmission install a breeze and align your transmission/bellhousing with our dowel pins as guides. Select the diameter needed for your application.

Improved Racing factory oil cooler delete kits remove the factory water-to-oil 'heater' so your vehicle can run with a more efficient air-to-oil cooling system. These kits come with everything needed to cap-off the radiator hose barb and water pump fittings from the factory setup. An oil cooler adapter (sold separately) is necessary to replace the factory water-to-oil cooler and allow for connecting an air-to-oil cooler.
