BTR engine expansion plugs can fill those sand-release casting holes in your Gen III/Gen IV engine block. They're 0.25 in. tall with a 0.625 in. diameter. Whatever you call them: freeze plugs; expansion plugs; core plugs—Brian Tooley Racing plug cores will properly seal up your engine block. They're available for dozens of LS-based Chevy engine applications from 1997 and up.

Engine Works Freeze Plugs

Engine Works freeze plugs are small, circular metal discs pressed into an engine block or cylinder head to seal holes created during the manufacturing casting process. They prevent coolant from leaking and are designed to pop out if the engine coolant freezes and expands, theoretically saving the engine block from cracking.
