Howards Cams extreme billet main caps are precision CNC-machined from superior-quality low-carbon 1020 billet material. They come available as stock replacements (straight bolt) or with splayed outer bolt holes. The splayed caps feature 10 degree angled outer holes to positively reinforce and tie the block together. Front, rear and center caps are all available. Use all the Howards Cams caps together for the ultimate in bottom-end stress and flex management. Howards Cams main caps feature side notches for easy removal and are proudly 100 percent manufactured in the USA. Line boring is required after installation.

Milodon main stud kits are required where maximum gasket loading and minimal wear and tear are exerted on the block threads. These engine studs are premium-grade, race-quality studs that are created from aircraft-quality 8740 chromoly steel right in Milodon's own plant. They are ground and thread-rolled after heat treatment to ensure the exacting tolerances that Milodon requires for all of their fasteners. This ensures strength and consistent torque readings. The tensile strength of these premium fasteners is 190,000 psi, which is more than adequate for the most demanding applications. All kits come complete with 4130 heat-treated, parallel-ground washers and high-strength nuts.

Milodon aftermarket main bearing caps not only strengthen factory 2-bolt blocks, but they will also add a measurable degree of strength to 4-bolt blocks. They are made from precision-machined, high-strength steel, which has the proper balance of strength and flexibility to allow for the transfer of increased shock loads to the crank and bearings. The secret is in the side bolts. They are angled so that they pull from the side walls of the block and not from the flimsy main web area. They'll also load the cap against the register step, which will prevent dreaded "cap walk." They can be installed by anyone with a hand drill and a tap and they come with the necessary bolts, washers, and drill bushing to complete the installation. Milodon main cap kits are available in your choice of angled or straight bolts.
