COMP Cams Godzilla hydraulic roller camshaft upgrades are designed to provide amazing drivability and throttle response, while producing increased torque across the entire RPM range with a significant horsepower bump with minimal effort. They're available in three distinct models: * Stage 1 NSR/NTR model: Utilizes the full phaser sweep for excellent mileage and optimized performance, without compromising durability. They requires no adjustment to the factory cam phasing or ignition timing without the need for a limiter. However, minimal ECU tuning may be required to meet the maximum potential. Testing with an optimized tune resulted in over 60 hp and 15 lbs.-ft. over stock with a much broader torque curve—impressive gains with minimal effort and zero compromise. * Stage 2 NSR model: Maintaining use of the phaser with a limiter kit allows these camshafts to also produce incredible horsepower. They offer maximum torque in the low- to mid-range for heavy vehicles and towing. Stage 2 cams deliver an increase of over 75 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm! They require a phaser limiter (P/N 5473). Testing with the phaser limiter kit resulted in gains of more than 75 hp over stock. One look at the torque curve produced by this camshaft will have your tires crying for mercy. * Stage 3 model: Godzilla Stage 3 camshafts are made for crate engines and engine swaps into lighter vehicles and those seeking maximum horsepower while still utilizing the phaser with a limiter kit. These cams bring the exhaust note that is worthy of the Godzilla name. They will produce well over 600 hp on pump gas! Awesome power can be expected, from 5,000 to 6,700 rpm with the valve spring kit (P/N 7230GCS-KIT) and a phaser limiter (P/N 5473). Testing with the phaser limiter kit resulted in gains of nearly 100 hp and 25 lbs.-ft. over stock. This much horsepower will make even Godzilla fly.

Comp Cams cam phaser limiter kits are specially designed, computer-controlled cam gears that automatically optimize camshaft timing based on the current engine rpm Engine oil is pressure-fed to the phasers through passageways in the cylinder heads and cams. The engine computers control solenoids that adjust this oil flow into and out of the phasers' control chambers, creating the ability to retard the cams. While this technology provides fuel efficiency and the ability to always be in the best position for maximum power, regardless of engine rpm, it does present some limitations when it comes to performance cams. With such a wide range of valve timing movement, there is very little piston to valve clearance, which limits you to small cam profiles with little overlap. COMP Cams cam phaser limiter kits restrict the range of cam timing movement (14 degrees for Chrysler, 20 degrees for Ford, and 22 degrees for GM), thus providing the necessary valve clearance for serious performance cams with tighter lobe separations--all while utilizing the benefits of VVT technology.
