PAC Racing's sophisticated processing, such as micro-polishing and Nano Peen technology, are used to enhance retainer life. The high hardness of the steel provides higher wear resistance properties to offer superior abrasion resistance and improved fatigue strength, while also reducing weight. Specific heat-treatment ensures hardness of the shims to offer maximum durability and less wear. Next to the specific heat-treatment the valve shims are precision machined to match exact size. The ProX valve shims are available in assortment boxes, as well as refill kits. Assortment boxes contain 7.48mm or 9.48mm shims for Japanese applications and 8.90mm and 10.00mm for KTM applications. Thicknesses range from 1.20mm up to 3.50mm. Incremental by 0.025 mm. Refill kits are available for each individual shim size and come in a package of five shims. Expected motor life has increased greatly through the years, but anything with moving parts is susceptible to wear and will eventually need rebuilt. PAC Racing 300 Series valve spring retainers are made from 4140 aerospace grade chromoly steel, making them an excellent choice for stock to slightly modified rebuilds. PAC does their own in-house manufacturing, allowing them to build strength into these units. They are heat-treated for solid wear characteristics and to raise the tensile strength, and for a rust-free finish, they apply black oxide coatings. Into every engine a little work must go; make certain you use the right parts for your stock to slightly modified build with PAC Racing 300 Series valve spring retainers.
