Sierra Marine offers a wide selection of parts, including thrust bearings to maintain, tuneup, or overhaul your boat. Thrust bearings support the axial thrust of both horizontal and vertical shafts. The functions are to prevent the shaft from drifting in the axial direction and to transfer thrust loads applied on the shaft. A boat's thrust bearings transfer the propeller's thrust from the shafting to the hull structure, which allows the propeller to be partially decoupled from the engine, while still allowing the engine to drive the propeller.
