That's where Holley retrofit oil pan baffle kits for the GM LS engines come in handy. They are designed to maintain proper oil level at the oil pump pickup during vehicle accelerations, both lateral and linear. The baffle maintains the oil at the oil pump pickup preventing loss of engine oil pressure during maximum cornering in a high performance touring or road racing, as well as under hard acceleration in drag racing vehicles. The baffle is fabricated from sheet aluminum joined by TIG-welded joints. Directionally positioned one-way trap doors allow oil flow towards the oil pump pickup but not away.

Holley offers LS swap 4WD truck off-road oil pan baffles for a variety of trucks, including many Chevy and GMC models from the 1970s and '80s. They take Holley's popular cast aluminum oil pans (P/N 302-4 and 302-4BK) designed to swap LS engines into K10s and other trucks to a whole new level. Vehicles that endure prolonged sessions of climbing, crawling, braking, turning, and accelerating need extra protection from oil starvation. That's where these baffle kits come in. They improve upon the baffle included with those pans, maintain proper oil level at the oil pump pick-up during vehicle elevation and grade changes, accelerations, both lateral and linear, and braking. This prevents loss of engine oil pressure during off-road excursions as well as during hard acceleration. Each baffle is fabricated from sheet aluminum joined by TIG-welded joints. Directionally positioned one-way trap doors allow oil flow toward the oil pump pick-up but not away. These direct bolt-in baffles are designed to be used in the Holley P/N 302-4 and 302-4BK LS Swap oil pan with the standard pickup, and are a drop-in replacement for the standard tray baffle. Earl's Performance oil filter block-off plates are ideal for engine swaps where extra clearance is needed. The factory oil filter location on the Gen III Hemi may interfere with the crossmember or suspension in some engine swaps. Earl's Performance block-off plates and relocation kits allow the oil filter to be moved to a remote location. The block-off adapter screws on, instead of the oil filter, and two NPT ports on the block near the filter allow installation of the AN hoses for plumbing the remote filter. They are available in two thread sizes, both are made from aluminum with black anodized finished, and tagged with Earl's logo, making them attractive and corrosion resistant.

For certain applications, higher than normal oil pressure is required. Typically, the oil pan must be removed to change the pressure spring on an oil pump. The Holley oil system allows direct access to the spring through the access port on the bottom front of the pan. Holley's high-pressure spring for Ford 7.3L Godzilla engines with their oil pump and pan can be purchased and installed to increase oil pressure by approximately 10 psi at higher rpms. To change the spring, remove the port plug, spring, and plunger. In some cases, the plunger may stay in the port. Make sure when reassembling the plunger is on top of the spring and oriented correctly.
