Here, at last, is the king of all big block crate engines from Chevrolet Performance. These 502 cu. in. engines are available unassembled or fully assembled. Each version makes extensive use of aluminum to keep weight down—including aluminum heads, intake, water pump, and valve covers. Additionally, ZZ502 c.i.d. deluxe long block crate engines are full of heavy-duty parts, such as: forged aluminum pistons, forged shot-peened steel connecting rods with 7/16 in. bolts, forged steel crankshaft, 14 in. automatic transmission flexplate, 4-bolt main blocks, stainless steel valves, 6 qt. oil pan, and windage trays. The complete Chevrolet Performance engine kits come with Gen 6 four-bolt main blocks with one-piece rear main seals. Hydraulic roller camshaft specs are: .527 in. intake lift, .544 in. exhaust lift; the duration at .050 in. for intake is 224, and 234 for exhaust with a 112-degree lobe centerline. Other features include a single roller timing chain, aluminum large oval port, and 110cc combustion chambered heads. Intake runner volume is 290cc; stainless steel valves are installed, with 2.25 in. intake side and 1.88 in. on the exhaust side. Valve springs are rated at 140 lbs. closed and 368 lbs. open, good for up to .680 in. lift. These heads have exhaust crossovers. Aluminum high-rise dual-plane square bore bolt pattern intake manifolds and an 870 cfm carburetor are also included.

Chevrolet Performance's ZZ632/1000 deluxe long block crate engines are their biggest and baddest big blocks! They start with a tall deck Sportsman Bowtie block and an all-forged roller assembly, then add a hydraulic roller camshaft and high-flow spread-port CNC-machined cylinder heads derived from Pro Stock racing technology. The RS-X design cylinder heads feature symmetrical ports to produce similar power from all eight cylinders. ZZ632 crate engines have a crank-trigger ignition system with coil-near-plug ignition coils mounted on a unique valley plate. Included is a pre-programmed, self-learning control system for precise fuel control and amazing output on premium pump gas. These big block engines reach peak power at 6,600 rpm and rev to a recommended maximum of 7,000 rpm. Chevrolet Performance has recreated the classic L88 Big Block combination in the ZZ427/480 long block crate engine. Rated at 480 hp, it features an iron block, forged steel crankshaft, and high-flow aluminum cylinder heads. An upgraded hydraulic roller camshaft improves drivability and rpm range, while lower 10.1:1 compression means you can enjoy the power on pump gas, too. Chevrolet Performance has rated these base crates to really deliver the power, thanks in part to their unique, lightweight aluminum cylinder heads that enable optimal airflow at high rpm. The engines are based on the proven Fast Burn design with large intake runners and valves. Along with their beehive-style valve springs that offer high-rpm efficiency and durability, the ZZ6 blocks make the most of every cubic inch of air drawn through them. Supporting the massive flow of air is an aggressive hydraulic roller camshaft and a forged steel crankshaft.
