ACL Performance offers Race Series rod bearing sets for a wide range of vehicles. These high performance tri-metal engine bearings are designed to withstand higher RPM conditions. They feature a high-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties. Select the crankshaft undersize and quantity recommended for your year/make and engine application. Additional details: * Hardened steel backs on all rod bearings to improve the support of the bearing lining and assist with bearing retention in the housing. * Increased crush for improved bearing retention * Elimination of flash plating on the back of the bearings to improve heat transfer through the bearings and to maximize the grip between the bearings and its housing * Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and to assist in the formation of hydrodynamic oil films * 3/4 in. grooved main bearings to optimize bearing load carrying surface area and oil flow to the conrod bearings * Tight consistent wall tolerances to help you maintain consistent clearances * Enlarged ID chamfers on bearing edges (where required) to accommodate large fillet radius on performance crankshafts

Clevite H-Series main bearings were developed primarily for NASCAR racing, but are well suited to other types of competition engines as well. They're especially good for engines that run at medium-to-high revs. They have steel backings with carefully selected overlays and a high crush factor, plus a medium level of eccentricity. H-Series bearings have enlarged chamfers at the sides for greater crank-fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. They are also available with either 180 degree or 360 degree oil grooves, as well as an extra 0.001 in. of clearance.

If you're building a high-level competition engine, you'll definitely want to consider Speed-Pro Competition Series rod bearings. They were developed in the trenches in NASCAR and Pro Stock competition, so you know they're tough. These bearings are built on premium 1020AK steel backings and overlaid with Speed-Pro's super-duty H-14 alloy. That's covered with a nickel barrier, followed by a thin lead-tin-copper overplate. However, unlike other performance bearings, there is no flash tin layer on top of that. That's because Speed-Pro engineers have determined that such a layer can actually move around under high performance conditions, sometimes resulting in undesirable consequences. Order the set designed for your vehicle and engine application.

Sealed Power engine products are a complete system of application-engineered replacement components, including pistons, piston rings, engine bearings, camshafts, oil pumps, timing components and valvetrain products. Sealed Power connecting rod bearings are available with different linings to meet every engine's needs. They're made using either tri-metal or aluminum bi-metal construction for the utmost in performance and durability for all stock rebuilds and mild performance applications. Tri-metal alloys feature a steel base coated with a sintered layer of copper-lead alloy, followed by layers of electro-plated nickel and babbit to produce the ultimate bearings. Bi-metal aluminum types carry all of the same features without the babbit, as specified by many of today's top engine builders. Sealed Power bearings are available for a multitude of engines in sizes ranging from standard to 0.060 in. oversized.

These Sealed Power MA Series main bearings can actually polish the journals on your crankshaft. That's because there's a small percentage of silicon mixed in with the aluminum and tin that make up the bearing-surface alloy. The silicon is there for wear resistance, but its toughness actually smoothes the journals of a crank whose surface hasn't been optimized! This special surface alloy is laid over a high-strength 1010 steel backing and delivers improved seizure and corrosion resistance, as well as better control of wall variance. It also helps to minimize debris embedding, which can score the crank's surface.

For some engines, the softer and more conformable nature of aluminum is preferable to the stiffer characteristics of the steel backings used for many bearings. Clevite AL-Series main bearings offer the features found in OE-type aluminum bearings, combined with the distinct advantages of proven Clevite know-how. That includes things such as carefully chosen eccentricities tailored to the application, and that means solid, reliable performance. Clevite AL-Series main bearings are a great choice for anything from OEM-style rebuilds to mild performance applications. Clevite recommends these main bearings for most engines using a cast crankshaft.

Clevite P-Series main bearings are the oldest members of the Clevite 77 bearing family and are intended for high-revving engines. To compensate for the high-load factors and distortion in these engines, these bearings have higher eccentricity and a high crush factor. P-Series bearings are constructed of tri-metal cast copper lead. They have a steel back for support, a cast copper lead lining to withstand the loads of engine operation, and an electroplated babbit overlay on the running surface to provide searing surface qualities. In addition, the oil grooves on most applications extend all the way around both halves for better oiling. Clevite P-Series main bearings are an ideal design, producing a degree of conformability, embedability, slipperiness, and fatigue resistance, not found in original equipment and competitive bimetal bearings.

King HP-Series cam bearings are precision-machined to tight tolerances to control installed oil clearances, reducing operating bearing pressure. These cam bearings are constructed from seamless steel tubing with a thin layer of lead based babbit material to reduce microscopic deflections. The babbit is quickly cooled in the casting process to achieve a very fine grain structure, doubling tensile strength, therefore, the HP-Series offers much more fatigue strength than conventional bearings, and can withstand racing spring loads, while maintaining the excellent surface characteristics of babbit. King also offers HP-Series bearings with a fluoropolymer coating. Bearings with this coating retain engine oil on the surface, even under extreme heat and pressure—a great advantage! Plus, being a lubricant, it provides backup during start-up and in the event of momentary oil starvation. Use track-tough King HP-Series cam bearings in your engine—and experience the difference.

P-Series rod bearings are the oldest members of the Clevite 77 performance bearing family. They're intended for high-revving engines, especially those where the high rpm cause the rod bores to narrow. To compensate for this distortion, these direct replacements have higher eccentricity and a high crush factor. Clevite P-Series rod bearings are built on hardened-steel backings with extra-thin overlays, and their lower sections have dowel holes for use with aluminum rods, and there are extra-clearance variations available with an additional 0.001 in. of clearance. Looking for a really trick way to drop a bunch of friction in your Ford engine? Naturally, Ford has the answer. These Ford Performance Parts roller cam bearings will do the trick. They're ultra-low-friction needle roller types, and they require so little lubrication that you can actually block off the stock cam oiling holes. Normal "splash" in the crankcase will get the bearings all the oil they require. This reduces both oil aeration and windage losses. Block machining and an SAE 8620 steel camshaft are required.

Jesel camshaft bearings incorporate a lead-based alloy Babbitt material that's applied to a precision centerless ground seamless steel back. This Babbitt material, in conjunction with a dry-film polymer lubricant, protects the bearing surface from damage due to instances such as cold starts, low oil flow, and catastrophic loss of oil pressure. In an effort to reduce oil windage and oil aeration from the camshaft, Jesel offers encapsulated needle-bearing camshaft bearings for a 50 to 70mm cam core. The low friction rollers are designed to operate with a minimal supply of oil. If you will be running a belt drive with this bearing, provisions need to be made to supplement the oil supply to the thrust washers of the belt drive. Order the bearing size needed for your application.
