ARP High Performance Series head bolt kits are tough. They are rated at 180,000 psi--15 percent stronger than Grade 8 fasteners. They come available with a reduced wrenching hex head or 12-point head that help eliminate the need for valvetrain removal when re-torqueing cylinder heads.

Wagner Tuning Pro Series cylinder head stud kits replace the original bolts with high-strength Pro Series 18.8 stud bolts with a tensile strength of 1850 N/mm², and they do not need to be replaced after disassembly, but can be reused. Pro Series bolt threads are formed and not cut as is customary in the trade. By rolling the threads, the strength of the tooth flanks can be increased by around 30 percent. All Pro-Series products are supplied with a nickel coating or a burnished finish and are therefore protected against corrosion in the long term, even under the toughest conditions. Pro Series stud bolts have a hexagon socket drive on the head side for screwing in the stud bolts. Thanks to a cone on the engine block side of the stud, these are not supported on the thread flanks when the nuts are tightened, but in the bore of the thread in the engine block. This support protects the threads during frequent assembly of racing engines. Nuts and washers are included in each set, and they also have a tensile strength of 1850 N/mm². Milodon head studs are required where maximum gasket loading and minimal wear and tear are exerted on the block threads. They are premium-grade and race-quality, created from aircraft-quality 8740 chromoly steel right in Milodon's own plant. These studs are ground and thread-rolled after heat treatment to ensure the exacting tolerances that Milodon requires for all of their fasteners. This ensures strength and consistent torque readings.
