The combustion chamber and valve layout move the intake valves away from the cylinder walls to reduce valve shrouding, significantly improving flow at higher lift. Shallow 11° intake/13° exhaust valve angles improve piston-to-valve clearance for high lift cams and reduce chamber volume for improved compression and efficiency. High velocity runners are optimized on the flow bench and dyno proven to outperform the competition on hydraulic roller camshaft engines. Trick Flow engineers used the best features of OEM GM LS3 and LS7 cylinder heads, combined with their own race-winning engineering and technology, to create the GenX® 255—the ultimate ultimate square port LS cylinder head for 4.000" and larger bore engines. The heads feature fully CNC Competition Ported runners with a premium high resolution surface finish for maximum airflow and performance potential. Stock LS3 ports accommodate LS3-style intake manifolds and LS9/LSA blower assemblies. The valve angles have been changed from 15° to 12° to increase piston-to-valve clearance and allow the use of larger camshafts. Pontiac engines, but feature a CNC-machined combustion chamber. The CNC-machined chambers result in a consistent and precise chamber for improved flow performance. Performer RPM CNC cylinder heads are available in two chamber sizes. The 87cc chamber version is ideal for 9.5:1 engines and will deliver excellent street performance on low-octane fuel. Performer RPM CNC cylinder heads with 72cc chambers are best for higher compression engines. Both are patterned after the same port flange configuration as the 1969-70 Ram-Air IV Pontiac cylinder heads.

Edelbrock Performer RPM Chrysler Gen III HEMI cylinder heads are bolt-on performance upgrades for Gen III HEMI engines. They are designed to fit with the stock intake manifold, exhaust manifold, valve cover, rockers, spark plugs, and accessories, as well as Hellcat components. The cylinder heads have been machined to be used on either the driver or passenger side of the block. They are cast from A356 aluminum and are heat-treated to T6 specifications. Edelbrock Performer RPM Chrysler Gen III HEMI cylinder heads feature fully CNC-machined combustion chambers, along with CNC-profiled bowls and port entries/exits for improved airflow. They also feature more material in the deck and reinforced combustion chambers for increased cylinder pressures. The rocker bosses have been reinforced for improved stability and strength, and extra material has been added around the intake and exhaust ports to allow for porting in racing applications. Both the intake and exhaust port flanges have remained in the factory location for use with OEM components. The intake and exhaust valves have been tipped away from the bore wall to unshroud the larger valves, while maintaining factory geometry.
